A Fabulous Fourth

This morning we lazed around and drank coffee, then went to El Pollo Loco for lunch.  Chicken, salad and cheat sweet potatoes.  Yes, sweet potatoes are allowed, no sweet potatoes battered and fried in soy/corn oil (ew) are not allowed.  Oh well.

After lunch we ran errands, one of which included choosing and ordering Ryan's wedding band.  This whole wedding thing seems to be coming up relatively soon (88 days!).  Time to start getting excited!

Along with many Americans, we lit up the bbq and made dinner that way (plus, it was way too hot to turn on the oven).  Dinner was a bbq pork tenderloin chop, grilled zucchini from MY MOM'S ORGANIC GARDEN, corn and grilled pineapple.  Yes, I know corn is not a vegetable, but today is a holiday and it felt very "American" to bbq corn.  I also made this.  Another cheat, but it was a good one!

After dinner we rode our bikes over to the south lake in Woodbridge to watch the fireworks.  First we watched these adorable and energetic children play.

Then we watched the fireworks.

Happy 4th of July!
